Naval Postgraduate School Award

October 9, 2014 – Monterey, CA — DeVine Consulting, Inc., announced that they have been awarded a contract to provide High Performance Computing (HPC) Support for the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA.

Supporting both NPS and the National Capitol Region (NCR) campus, DeVine will cover the east and west regions. DeVine will work closely with the Digital Evaluation and Exploitation (DEEP) Research Group, providing support in, but not limited to:

  • System architecture assistance
  • Installation, update and upgrade operating systems on servers and
  • LINUX System Administration

“We will leverage our deep High Performance Computing expertise, along with our understanding of the NPS infrastructure to create a scalable architecture that can meet their ever-growing need,” said Jeffrey DeVine, managing partner of DeVine Consulting, Inc.

Established in 1909, NPS’ HPC Center leads the pack in innovative scientific computing research while sustaining pertinence to national security and defense.

The HPC Center has created a hybrid computer that holds 48-core and 64-core nodes of AMD CPU’s. System specifications: 1,912 CPU cores and 11,296 GPU cores that allow for advanced computer simulation and modeling. With over 100 terabytes of near-line hard-disk storage, 199 terabytes of ultrafast online DDN hard disk storage, and 475 terabytes of tape backup/archive capability, the hybrid cluster is accessible campus-wide.

Utilizing supercomputer systems, large datasets and other tools, NPS deals with projects that not only improves but advances security and science.
