March 1, 2019

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has awarded DeVine Consulting, Inc. (DeVine) the Small Business Subcontractor of the Year Award for work supporting AMES Research Center at Moffett Field, California.  Each year, NASA recognizes a group of small businesses for their performance, community outreach, and innovation.

Devine staff is active in Science Network Operations (Sci NetOps) and Data Processing System (DPS) software development under the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) project at AMES and Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC).

Within the Sci Net Ops team, DeVine provides critical support to software development by converting legacy software repositories into Git format while also deploying a robust  Git repository with large file support (Git-lfs).  The new Git repository increases SOFIA software development projects’ security by providing fine-grain access control, increased the reliability with daily backups, and has provided robust manageability of the entire development lifecycle.  Devine also contributed to a recent infrastructure deployment project that included standing up a VMware ESXi infrastructure with backend storage devices.  The project hosts critical SOFIA services ranging from www, twiki, development repositories, authentication (LDAP/AD), DNS, and DHCP.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by NASA as the best Small Business Subcontractor at Ames Research Center. We’ve experienced significant growth and changes in recent years, which made this incredible milestone possible. The future is looking bright for DeVine, and we couldn’t have made it this far without the combined efforts of our incredible employees.” – Jeffrey Devine, President
