U.S. Navy Selects DeVine to Deliver Survivability, Habitability, Environmental Safety, and Occupational Health Course at Naval Postgraduate School

December 19, 2016 – Monterey, CA. — DeVine Consulting, Inc., is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a contract to deliver the Survivability, Habitability, Environmental Safety, and Occupational Health Course for the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA.

The U.S. Navy has selected DeVine Consulting to provide an instructor to update and teach the graduate-level distance learning course for the academic year 2017 winter quarter to NPS students located globally. The course will provide an overview of personnel survivability methodology in safety, health hazards, and occupational health concepts. The evaluation of new and modified military systems and equipment for safety and potential health hazards will be addressed through reviewing models, methods, and processes available to help identify and mitigate the potential harm from accidents and hostile environments. Occupational health concerns will be addressed, and methods of alleviating or minimizing workplace hazards will be analyzed. Risk analysis and mitigation models also will be examined for their contribution to increased safety and operational effectiveness.

DeVine was selected for this contract because of the qualifications of the instructor DeVine will be providing. The instructor is an internationally recognized authority on aviation human factors, operational risk management, and biomedical health security strategy. As an NPS Senior Lecturer, an Invited Lecturer for the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies Seminar on Transatlantic Civil Security Program, and presenter of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Seminar on Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism, DeVine’s selected instructor will greatly enhance the students’ understanding of this critical subject matter.
