Cybersecurity Program Manager

Is your business secure? Learn how you can prevent your small business from being the next victim of a cyber attack.

In 2015, over half a billion private records were stolen or lost due to cyber-attacks. The incidence of spear-phishing attacks increased by 55 percent, and ransomware attacks increased by 35 percent. Of the targeted Spear Phishing attacks detected by security firm Symantec, 43 percent of these attacks targeted small businesses.

According to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), companies have reported over $800 million in losses due to cyber incidents. Since small businesses make up 99.7% of all employer firms in the U.S., this is a staggering number. How can you protect your company from such cybersecurity incidents?

DeVine Consulting’s cybersecurity program manager will cover topics that may help you secure your company’s IT assets and reduce your business’s risk of experiencing a threatening cybersecurity incident. Specific topics include:

• The modern cybersecurity landscape: recognizing threats and vulnerabilities
• How to recognize types of information that should be secured
• Best practices for guarding against cybersecurity threats
• How to respond if your small business is targeted in an attack

With over 20 employees representing our projects with Defense Manpower Data, Naval Research Laboratories, Naval Postgraduate School, and Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center, the party was filled with love and laughter.

Tarpy’s, a five-star restaurant, is known for its country American cuisines with wonderful flavors of the freshest seafood and prime steaks. The delightful indoor rooms and gardens made for the perfect backdrop for a gathering of friends and family. DeVine team members and their family members enjoyed the food, music, and the opportunity to mingle.

The 2015 Holiday Party was a great opportunity to kick off the upcoming holiday season and to celebrate the close of another successful year. September 3, 2015 – Monterey, CA. — DeVine Consulting, Inc., is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a contract to provide Cybersecurity Support for the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA.

This contract’s scope is to provide CND service support and expertise in protecting NPS data and networks (EDU, DREN, and SIPRNet) with a focus on incident response and handling. Additionally, the CS analyst shall coordinate with the Defense Language Institute-Foreign Language Center (DLI-FLC) on any incidents identified by Navy Cyberdefense Operations Command (NCDOC) or the High-Performance Computing-Computer Emergency Response Team (HPC-CERT) that are attributed to DLI-FLC activity.

Task Areas:

  • Analyze and validate network alerts
  • Analyze log files
  • Identify potential threats in network traffic
  • Construct signatures in response to observed threats
  • Prepare incident management documentation

About NPS:
NPS provides high-quality, relevant, and unique advanced education and research programs that increase the combat effectiveness of the Navy, other Armed Forces of the U.S, and other partners to enhance national security. This mission’s core enabler is NPS’s ability to protect and defend the school’s network data and intellectual property from unauthorized use. This is a challenging requirement because of the highly available network supporting multiple, complex requirements, including collaborative partnerships with other DoD entities, advanced research conducted by NPS faculty, membership in several regional and national higher education networks, and cutting-edge research in networking, and many other initiatives. To better protect the dual mission of providing higher education on the one hand and advanced research on the other, NPS needs to improve its network security, prevent intrusions, and understand the normal operations of network traffic to better defense NPS networking resources. All of this should be completed in a manner consistent with its mission while also meeting the security requirements unique to the Navy and DoD.
